MADISON - Gov. Tony Evers today announced that, for the sixth consecutive year during his tenure, the state's General Fund recorded a positive balance at the end of the 2024-25 fiscal year using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Released today, the state's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) shows a $3.9 billion positive GAAP balance in the state's General Fund. The ACFR also shows the state's Budget Stabilization Fund-also known as the "rainy day" fund-again ended the fiscal year at the highest level in state history with a balance of $2 billion. The Budget Stabilization Fund has set a new record in every fiscal year under Gov. Evers. "My administration and I have remained committed to working across the aisle, being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars, and paying off our state's debts, and after 30 consecutive years of the state running at a deficit, now, today, thanks to our diligent management of our state's finances, we are celebrating six consecutive years of Wisconsin's bank account being securely in the positive," said Gov. Evers. "This is something that we can all be proud of, and it's great news for the people of Wisconsin and our state's economy." Highlights:
