On February 3, 2026, H.E. Mr. Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, paid a courtesy call on Pamela Coke-Hamilton, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC). The two sides exchanged views on issues such as upholding multilateralism and the deepening of pragmatic collaboration.

Ambassador Jia Guide stated that the world is currently undergoing accelerated transformation unseen in a century. Rising unilateralism and economic protectionism are disrupting the international order, undermining the multilateral trading system. China is committed to true multilateralism. The Chinese side is willing to further deepen practical cooperation with the ITC to share opportunities and achieve common development with countries worldwide.

Ms. Coke-Hamilton welcomed Ambassador Jia Guide to his new post and expressed high appreciation for China's important role in upholding the multilateral trading system and promoting global development and prosperity. She expressed the ITC's readiness to deepen "Belt and Road" cooperation with China and strengthen practical cooperation under the framework of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) to benefit more developing countries.
