HARRISBURG - Monday, October 20, 2025 - Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) Chairman Stephen M. DeFrank will speak at the PUC's 2025 "Berks Be Wise" consumer education conference in Reading, PA - highlighting current issues impacting winter affordability for income-eligible consumers, ongoing PUC initiatives to strengthen Pennsylvania's Low-Income Usage Reduction Programs, and other key consumer protections.

The "Berks Be Wise" conference is part of the PUC's annual "train-the-trainer" consumer education series - dedicated to consumer advocacy, utility education, and resource training. These events bring together front-line community partners, utilities and key stakeholders to focus on exploring strategies for helping low-income households maintain essential utility services - sharing tools and resources on customer assistance programs, energy efficiency and conservation; reviewing program guidelines; and exchanging ideas on ways to improve service to at-risk households.
