LU Aquaculture Research Featured in Missouri Soybean Farmer
Student workers at Lincoln University's Aquaculture Research Facility assist with laboratory research.
Lincoln University of Missouri (LU) aquaculture research is featured in the August 2026 issue of Missouri Soybean Farmer, a magazine highlighting Missouri soybean growers, checkoff-funded research and industry initiatives.
The research brings together LU, soybean industry partners and aquaculture producers to explore how soybean meal could replace a portion of traditional fish meal in largemouth bass diets. The work has potential benefits for both industries - creating additional uses for soybean meal while helping fish producers identify more economical feed options without sacrificing growth and performance.
Led by Moureen Matuha, Ph.D., the project includes research at LU's Aquaculture Research Facility and an on-farm feeding trial with NuTerra Farms in Dexter, Missouri, with support from the Soy Aquaculture Alliance and Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council.
