NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

ALASKA EARTH SCIENCES, INC

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: ALASKA EARTH SCIENCES, INC

PROJECT NAME: LAS 35986

ENCLOSED DOCUMENTS: Applications, Site Diagram, Maps

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: A seasonal (June-November) 1-year Land Use Permit for 11 fuel cache sites throughout and around the Alaska Range for heli-supported exploration and mapping activities related to mineral prospecting efforts. Each site would contain up to four 55-gallon barrels of Jet-A fuel with secondary containment measuring 110% of maximum fuel storage.

Note: 11 separate applications were received, which are being adjudicated as one casefile.

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: 11 locations within western Alaska Range and Tordrillo Mountains; some just west of Alexander Creek

Site 1: approx. 3.4 miles east of Talachulitna River, near headwaters of Theodore River

Site 2: between clear creek and Texas Creek, approx. 1.3 miles west of proposed Donlin Gold LNG Pipeline

Site 3: approx. 3 miles east of Trimble Glacier; north of Coal Creek

Site 4: approx. 4 miles southwest of the confluence of Hayes River and Trimble River

Site 5: approx. 3.25 miles south southeast of Whiskey Bravo airstrip; 1.5 miles west of Chickak River; south of Alger Peak

Site 6: near the confluence of Crystal Creek and Skwentna River

Site 7: approx. 1 mile east of Styx River

Site 8: between Hartman River and South Fork Kuskokwim River

Site 9: near headwaters of south fork Kuskokwim river

Site 10: in the Tordrillo Mountains; near the headwaters of the Skwentna River; on South Twin Glacier

Site 11: Approx. 5 miles west northwest of the mouth of the Chilligan River; 2800 ft east of National Park Boundary

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity.
