Congressman Shreve to Host “Shreve STOP SCAMS Summit” in Columbus

COLUMBUS, IN - Congressman Jefferson Shreve will host his second Shreve STOP SCAMS Summit on Monday, October 19, bringing together law enforcement and financial experts to help Hoosiers recognize scams and protect themselves from fraud.

The event builds on Shreve's work as Chairman of the congressional Stop Scams Caucus to combat criminal scam networks and protect Americans from financial exploitation.

"Scammers are getting more sophisticated, and anyone can be a target," said Congressman Shreve. "The best defense is knowing what to look for. This summit will give Hoosiers practical tools to recognize scams, protect their hard-earned money, and avoid becoming victims."

The summit will feature a panel moderated by Ivy Tech Vice Chancellor of Development Therese Copeland. Panelists include Bartholomew County Sheriff Christopher Lane, Mutual Savings Bank Chief Operating Officer Chad Riddle, and representatives from the FBI, the Indiana Attorney General's Office, and the Indiana Secretary of State's Securities Division.
