Community Candlelight Vigil to reflect on the Bondi Tragedy

Published on 18 December 2025

A candlelight vigil honouring the 15 lives lost in the Bondi tragedy will be held in Yass on Sunday.

  • Sunday 21st December, 6.45pm - 8.00 pm
  • Yass Soldier's Memorial Hall, Comur St, Yass

Yass Valley Council, in partnership with the Yass RSL Sub-Branch and Combined Churches Yass, invites the Yass Valley Community to come together to light a candle at the Soldier's Memorial Hall Shrine of Remembrance, in honour of those who lost their lives at the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.

The Shrine of Remembrance will be open from 6.45pm - 8.00pm on Sunday, 21 December, providing space for people to pause, reflect and pay their respects to the victims, and honour their families and the survivors.

Prayers will be offered for our multi-faith community, and Yass Valley Mayor Jasmin Jones will give a short address. The Yass Soldier's Memorial Hall will be lit blue over the weekend in support of the Jewish community.

All are welcome. A Yass Book of Condolence will also be available for people to sign.

The official NSW Government online condolence book in honour of those affected is available at Bondi Beach Condolence Book.
