BSU Welcomes Over 400 Future Bulldogs to Fall Open House

Bowie State University opened its doors to future Bulldogs and their families during the Fall Undergraduate Open House, where more than 400 attendees explored Maryland's first historically Black college/university and its wide range of academic programs.

The event gave prospective students a firsthand look at life at BSU, with opportunities to visit academic departments, meet faculty, connect with current students, and learn more about admissions, financial aid and student life. Visitors also toured the campus to experience the welcoming atmosphere and the facilities that support student success.

"This Undergraduate Open House is an important moment for us to showcase the excellence of Bowie State," said Brian Clemmons, vice president for enrollment management. "It's about helping prospective students and their families understand not only our programs, but also our commitment to empowering students to achieve and thrive."

With more than 25 undergraduate and graduate programs highlighted, the Fall Open House showcased BSU's strengths in business, education, science, technology and the arts. Staff and student volunteers guided guests throughout the day, helping create an engaging and informative experience.

The strong turnout reflected growing interest in Bowie State's academic excellence, vibrant campus life and commitment to inclusivity and innovation. For many families, the event was an important first step in the college decision-making process, offering valuable insight into what makes BSU a top choice.
