On the transfer of humanitarian aid to the Afghan people

On December 29, a ceremony of transferring humanitarian aid to the Afghan people on behalf of the Leadership of Uzbekistan was held in the city of Hairatan, Balkh Province.

The humanitarian cargo, with a total weight of approximately 390 tons, was formed at the Termez Cargo Centre and consists of food products, medicines, and medical equipment.

During the inspection of the humanitarian aid, the Governor of Balkh Province M.Wafo expressed appreciation to the President of Uzbekistan for the continued assistance provided to the Afghan people. The delivery was noted as a reflection of Uzbekistan's consistent efforts to support Afghanistan.

It was noted that this initiative represents the fourth humanitarian assistance delivered to the Afghan people in the course of 2025.

The Governor also highlighted the concrete steps taken by Uzbekistan to strengthen bilateral relations and promote trade and economic cooperation. As a result, in recent years, the volume of Afghan exports has increased significantly, along with improvements in the socio-economic conditions and well-being of the Afghan population.
