Rep. Mullin responds to Trump’s Threat to Deploy the National Guard to San Francisco

Rep. Kevin Mullin, who represents California's 15th Congressional District that includes portions of San Francisco and San Mateo counties, issued the following in response to Trump's threat to send the National Guard:

"San Francisco officials have taken steadfast steps to address the needs of residents and businesses, and crime is at its lowest point in decades. Despite reality, Trump wants to harass the people of San Francisco by threatening to deploy the National Guard to our communities.

Let's be clear: San Franciscans do not want or need the chaos that would be caused by a political stunt that does nothing to improve public safety.

I will continue to lend my support to Mayor Lurie, Governor Newsom and local law enforcement - I have full confidence in them and they are more than capable of keeping San Francisco safe."
