One of the key delivery partners for Knowsley Council's Be the Change project hosted young boxers from around the country for their special one-year anniversary show.

Stalker's Boxing Academy staged the anniversary exhibition at Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park, with over 500 people in attendance.

Stalker's Boxing Academy is one of the key delivery partners for Be the Change, a unique Knowsley Council project that was launched to raise aspirations and steer people away from those involved in serious and organised crime.

As part of Be the Change, Stalker's Boxing Academy has been providing boxing training to hundreds of young people in Knowsley, promoting the ethos of highlighting what people can be, rather than what they shouldn't be, and encouraging them to fulfil their potential.

Tom Stalker from Stalker's Boxing Academy, said: "What a year it has been for our club. Hundreds of kids come through the gym doors every single week with hope, ambition and belief - and that in itself is the positive change we all need in Huyton and our community. This club is about more than boxing. It's about discipline, respect, confidence and giving young people a place to belong. Huyton is my home, its where I am from and to inspire even one child is a privilege."

Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, was in attendance to support the event.

Cllr Morgan said: "Stalker's Boxing Academy is having a really positive impact in the local community as part of the wider Be the Change project. Hundreds of young people have benefited from being involved with the gym since it opened its doors in Huyton Village Centre. The boxing exhibition highlighted how much the gym has grown and how many people they have reached. It is fantastic to see."
