Homicide Unit detectives late Thursday night charged a juvenile and an adult in connection with the August 29th fatal shooting of Ever Domingo-Mazariegos, 25, in a parking lot of Crestridge Apartments at 1010 Thompson Place.
Juan Acoj-Tecu, 16, is charged at Juvenile Court with criminal homicide and unlawful gun possession. Emerson Depaz-Pangan, 26, is charged with facilitation of criminal homicide and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The investigation shows that Depaz-Pangan had been involved in an argument with Domingo-Mazariegos during the evening of August 29th and later drove Acoj-Tecu with him to confront the victim. Acoj-Tecu was armed with a pistol. During the confrontation, Acoj-Tecu and Domingo-Mazariegos exchanged gunfire. Domingo-Mazariegos was driven by private vehicle to General Hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transferred to Vanderbilt where he died.
Acoj-Tecu was shot in the hand during the exchange. Acoj-Tecu showed up at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital that night. He lied to officers and said that he was shot on Millwood Drive near a creek.
Acoj-Tecu is being held in juvenile detention pending a hearing. Depaz-Pangan is jailed in lieu of $110,000.
