LOS ANGELES - As part of a series of convenings ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass this weekend convened local and state leaders to discuss shared priorities and opportunities to ensure that the region benefits from the coming world events. On Saturday, Mayor Bass and Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Kathryn Barger met with local leaders including Mayors from the majority of the 88 Cities throughout L.A. County. On Sunday, Mayor Bass and Assemblymember Tina McKinnor met with members of the L.A. County State Legislative Delegation.
This follows a convening with theL.A. County Congressional Delegationlast week. Mayor Bass continues to build on this momentum and partner with leaders across all levels of government as she works to ensure that Angelenos benefit from these world events for decades to come. B-roll available here.

The local and state delegations heard directly from LA28 Chief Executive Officer Reynold Hoover, Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission officials Allison Citelli and Maria Camacho and Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins and Deputy Chief Innovation Officer Marcel Porras to discuss shared priorities and ways to prepare the region for coming world events. The delegations also heard from Executive Director of the Office of Major Events Paul Krekorian. Executive Director Krekorian wasappointedby Mayor Bass to coordinate City departments and external stakeholders, ensuring that upcoming major events generate positive economic impacts that benefit all Angelenos.
