Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Announces Battle Anniversary Weekend from June 27 to 28
KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park will host its annual battle anniversary weekend on June 27 and 28, commemorating the 1864 Battle of Kennesaw Mountain and its role in the Atlanta Campaign.
The weekend will feature a series of programs designed to help visitors explore the history, landscapes and events associated with the battle. These programs include artillery and musket demonstrations, guided walks, living-history encampments and interpretive talks. Rangers, volunteers and living-history volunteers will provide information, assist visitors and share the compelling stories of the battle.
Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park preserves the site of one of the major engagements of the Atlanta Campaign, where Union and Confederate troops contested control of key terrain north of the city.
The visitor center and park museum are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can check the park's website and social media channels for schedules, parking information and weather-related updates.
