Another round of scam texts is making its way through Idaho

BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department is warning customers about a new wave of fraudulent text messages impersonating courts, law enforcement, and the DMV. These messages often include official-sounding case numbers, threats of warrants or asset seizure, and links that do not lead to government websites.

As a reminder, ITD will not send unexpected texts demanding payment, threatening legal action, or directing customers to non-government links. If a message does not end in a .gov address, it is not from ITD.

Idahoans who receive these texts should avoid clicking links, sharing personal information, or making payments. Report the message to your mobile carrier and delete it. For accurate information about your driver's license or vehicle registration, visit dmv.idaho.gov.
