PPL Foundation awards grants to 30 nonprofit organizations in eastern and central Pennsylvania

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (June 12, 2025) - The PPL Foundation this month completed the first of three planned grant programs for 2025, awarding $200,000 in grants to 30 nonprofit organizations working to build stronger communities in eastern and central Pennsylvania.

In all, the PPL Foundation expects to award $1 million in grants this year in Pennsylvania to support the foundation's focus areas: education, inclusion and sustainable communities.

Funds from the first round of grants will be used to support programs such as a summer engineering camp for first generation students, sensory friendly haircuts for children with autism, an inclusive fitness program that pairs veterans and children with disabilities and a workforce development initiative that prepares youth with career training and mentorship.

The recent grants, ranging from $2,500 to $14,000, were awarded to:

  • Camelot for Children, Allentown
  • Carlisle Family YMCA
  • Clinton County United Way, Lock Haven
  • Collaborative Autism Movement, Hazleton
  • Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley
  • Danville Area Community Center
  • Developmental Education Services of Monroe County, Stroudsburg
  • Future City Central Pennsylvania, Harrisburg
  • Girls on the Run of Montgomery and Delaware Counties, Fort Washington
  • Greater Philadelphia YMCA, Conshohocken
  • Greater Wilkes-Barre Association for the Blind, Exeter
  • Harrisburg Area YMCA
  • IM ABLE Foundation, Wyomissing
  • Lacawac Sanctuary Foundation, Lake Ariel
  • Leadership Northeast, Wilkes-Barre
  • Lehigh University Summer Engineer Institute, Bethlehem
  • Lehighton Area Memorial Library
  • Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley, Allentown
  • River Valley Regional YMCA, Williamsport

The foundation's next round of grants - Empowering Communities - is focused on enriching the vitality of the community through programs that support environmental stewardship and education, economic development and workforce development. Applications for Empowering Communities grants are being accepted through June 15.
