CITY OF SUN PRAIRIE SEEKS COMMUNITY INPUT
ON CITY SERVICES AND FUTURE FUNDING OPTIONS
Residents urged to provide feedback via survey by October 6
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. - The City of Sun Prairie is evaluating several funding options to maintain high-quality services, support ongoing improvements and maintain the city's long-term success. To help identify priority areas of investment, residents are invited to share their feedback through a citywide survey arriving in mailboxes in mid-September.
"Sun Prairie is proud to be a vibrant, growing community known for its exceptional quality of life, strong city services and thoughtful development," said City Administrator Aaron Oppenheimer. "As the cost of providing these services continues to rise, we need the community's input to help guide important decisions about future funding and the investments that will keep Sun Prairie a great place to live, work and play."
In April 2025, the City of Sun Prairie released a report outlining the need for additional funding to maintain essential services and invest in staff across key departments. The report also detailed potential funding mechanisms for the city to explore, including the possibility of an operating referendum. The report is available on the city website .
All households in the city, including renters and homeowners, will receive one copy of the survey by mail starting the week of September 15. The survey can be completed online or returned by mail through Monday, October 6, 2025:
To obtain a second survey for another adult in your household, please visit City Hall, the Westside Community Services Building or the Library, or call 608-825-1193. Residents can also request another unique survey code by emailing [email protected] .
The City of Sun Prairie is working with an independent survey administrator, Community Perceptions. All responses will be kept confidential. Initial survey results will be presented at a City Council meeting on November 4, 2025, with a full report to be published shortly after.
