Ella Langley Shares How Miranda Lambert Impacted Her Career

Ella Langley reflected on Miranda Lambert 's influence on her career.

The two country stars teamed up to write record-breaking single "Choosin' Texas" with Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor. The song appeared on Langley's sophomore record, Dandelion, which she and Lambert co-produced with Ben West. Langley and Lambert united again when they recorded "Snakeskin Boots," the cinematic opening track of Lambert's new 10th solo studio record, Crisco. The country-disco project arrived on Friday (October 2).

"Miranda was somebody I grew up listening to and looking up to," Langley told Southern Living for the publication's November 2026 cover story about Lambert. "She is who she is, and she doesn't apologize for it. That's something that was always apparent to me watching her when I was younger and definitely inspired me to be confident in my artistry. It's pretty surreal to now get to work alongside somebody I grew up admiring."

Lambert also expressed her support for other female artists in the genre.

"Country music always has stages and phases and ups and downs, but I haven't seen this many women winning since probably the 1990s," Lambert said in the interview. "When I say 'winning,' I don't mean awards. I mean just being out there doing the damn thing. It's really good to see. I know what that takes, so I respect it a lot and am thankful to be part of it."
