City celebrates National Community Development Week, April 6-10

The City of Fort Worth is celebrating National Community Development Week, April 6-10. This year's theme, "Be a Good Neighbor," promises a week full of activities highlighting the positive impact of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs across our community.

These federal grants support low- and moderate-income residents by funding affordable housing development, home rehabilitation, neighborhood infrastructure improvements and essential public services that strengthen Fort Worth neighborhoods.

Week at a glance

Monday, April 6

  • Tune in for the official 2026 National Community Development Week kickoff video.
  • Take action: Want to shape your city's future? Learn how to join the Fort Worth Community Development Council and make your voice heard.

Tuesday, April 7

  • Official National Community Development Week recognition at City Hall.
  • See firsthand how the Homebuyer Assistance and Priority Repair Programs are changing lives, rebuilding homes and supporting local families across Fort Worth.

Wednesday, April 8

  • Find out if you qualify for Homebuyer Assistance and Priority Repair programs.
  • Learn about the positive growth happening through the Stop Six Choice Neighborhood Initiative.

Thursday, April 9

  • Bring the whole family for an evening of fun and connection.
  • Meet with City departments and community agencies to get your questions answered.
  • Enjoy a kids zone, bounce house, exciting door prizes and free food.
