The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has taken part in an informal leaders' dinner with the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, as part of the first European Union-Egypt Summit.
The leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East, thanking Egypt for its role in negotiating the agreement on Gaza reached last week, and examined the next steps to be taken in implementing that agreement.

They also reviewed the security situation in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, and economic relations between Egypt and the European Union in light of the Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership launched between the two parties last year.
