Donate items to benefit new Marines joining City’s adopted battalion

To benefit new Marines joining the City's adopted Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, the City's Marine & Sailors Adoption Committee is seeking donations to fill special welcome baskets.

Committee members are assembling welcome baskets filled with essentials that help young Marines settle into the barracks and start their journey feeling supported. Donations will be accepted through September 30 with drop-off bins at Mission Viejo City Hall and the Mission Viejo Library.

Items sought include Twin XL sheet sets, queen pillows, cleaning and laundry products, backpack laundry bags, multi-outlet surge protectors, boxed or bagged snacks and bath towel sets. Every donation directly benefits Marines who just arrived at their new home and are preparing for the demanding work ahead.

Donate from the "welcome basket" wish list at Target.com. Monetary donations can also be made at mvcommunityfoundation.org/donation by designating "welcome baskets" in the note section.
