RALEIGH - Campbell University's PGA Golf Management program ran away with the title at the annual Carolinas Cup tournament held at Lonnie Poole Golf Course near the campus of NC State University this past weekend.
Campbell's lineup of Cooper Klein, Andrew Bull, Emily Martin, Brandon Bowman and Colby Stephens topped second-place defending champion Coastal Carolina University by 22 strokes. Martin finished as Campbell's individual medalist with a -1, and Bull had the team's low round on Day 2 (-2) after sinking eight birdies.
The win was Campbell's first since 2019. The team finished second last year at CCU's Hackler Course in Conway, South Carolina.
A program Campbell University's Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, Professional Golf Management students study to become professionals in the golf industry by gaining valuable work experience and by enhancing their playing and teaching skills. Campbell's innovative four-and-a-half-year program is one of only 16 sanctioned by the Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA). The program is led by director Gabriella Story.
