City offices to close Friday due to winter weather

The City of Powder Springs announces that all city facilities will be CLOSED Friday, Jan. 10, due to expected winter weather conditions. Friday's sanitation routes will be picked up Monday, Jan. 13.

The closure will also affect the city's Recycling Center - it will not be in operation Saturday, Jan. 11.

The City is not alone for canceling operations ahead of Friday's weather. Cobb County Government announced Wednesday that its operations would be closed on Friday & Saturday, Jan. 10 & 11, due to anticipated winter weather.

Cobb County Schools announced Thursday morning that all Cobb schools and offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 10, for all students and staff. All extracurriculars, including sports, are also canceled on Friday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 11.
