India-ROK Secretary (East) - Vice Minister Consultations

Shri P. Kumaran, Secretary (East) held Consultations with Mr. Park Yoon-joo, First Vice Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of ROK, on 20th March 2026 in New Delhi, during the latter's visit to India from 20-21 March, 2026.

2. Both sides recalled recent discussions at the 6 India-ROK Foreign Policy and Security Dialogue (FPSD) held in Seoul in February 2026 and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen and deepen India-ROK Special Strategic Partnership.

3. The Consultations provided an opportunity to conduct a comprehensive review of the entire gamut of bilateral relations, in areas including political, economic, science and technology, defence and security, people-to-people ties and cultural cooperation. Both sides agreed that the shipbuilding and maritime sector is a key priority in our bilateral partnership. They further agreed to explore opportunities in new and emerging domains such as critical minerals, AI, digital technologies and sustainability.

4. Both sides also shared respective perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

5. In addition to the Consultations, Mr. Park Yoon-joo also called on External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar and shared ROK's commitment to build on the existing momentum and further strengthen the bilateral relations.
