Current and past FPU Paragon Scholars attend reunion

A special scholarship, and the students who have received it, were honored January 9, 2025, at Fresno Pacific University.

The about 30 attendees of a reunion for the Paragon Scholars program included current and past winners, along with administrators, faculty, staff and guests. The scholarship is the highest award of its kind presented by FPU, honoring those with a unusual blend of academic and persona achievement.

The event took place in the Warkentine Culture and Arts Center on the main campus. Paragon alumni gave updates-several are close to completing Ph.D.'s at Baylor, Iowa and UCSB-and current recipients talked about what they were doing. Updates were also read from alumni who couldn't be present, and FPU President André Stephens and President Emeritus Richard Kriegbaum, Ph.D., spoke.

Organizers included Marshall Johnston, Ph.D., director of the University Scholars Program; Morgan Schlesselman, director of alumni development; Luke Smith, alumnus and Paragon Scholar; and Judith Flores Mora, USP assistant and student.
