The end of the fall 2025 semester was highlighted with a Science and Math Family Engagement Night for CU-Mansfield education majors in Dr. Amanda Stutzman's ECED 440 Science Methods course.

The December event welcomed local elementary students and their families for a fun, interactive evening of learning. The evening took place at Warren L. Miller Elementary School in the Southern Tioga School District, under the leadership of Principal Andrew Freas, and it brought together both pre-service and in-service educators.

Students enrolled in Stutzman's course planned and facilitated interactive science activities for more than 75 students in kindergarten through 6th grade and their family members. Through this learning experience, the education majors applied instructional strategies, strengthened family communication skills, and designed developmentally appropriate science experiences aligned to science standards.

The event reflects the University's commitment to community engagement, experiential learning, and the preparation of effective, reflective educators.
