On December 16, 2025, around 1:00 p.m. a school aged child was walking to school in the 600 block of Beverley Street.
A vehicle described as a white van stopped and approached the child. Two men, described as wearing face masks and black clothing exited the vehicle and offered the child candy and a ride.
The child refused and quickly ran to the school and reported what happened to staff. Police were contacted and the investigation is in its early stages.
The Winnipeg Police Service encourages families and caregivers to discuss strategic safety with their children; including walking with a friend, reporting any suspicious interactions to a trusted adult and shouting out loud if they need help.
Anyone with information including video surveillance is asked to contact the Child Abuse Unit at 204-986-3296 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-TIPS or winnipegcrimestoppers.org
