Washington, D.C. (February 2, 2026)- Monumental Sports & Entertainment(MSE) announced today that the 53rd Hoop Culture Capital Classicpresented by Events DC will be held at Capital One Arena (COA) on Saturday, April 4, 2026. This will mark the first time COA has hosted the event since 2017, joining the downtown arena's robust lineup of 220+ annual live events.

The Capital Classic, The Game That Started It All!, is one of the most prestigious high school basketball All-American games in the nation, bringing together the next generation of basketball superstars for a showcase between the best players in the DMV region versus the best players throughout the rest of the United States. This year, these high school athletes will have the opportunity to compete at Capital One Arena - the marquee basketball venue which is home to the NBA's Washington Wizards and NCAA's Georgetown Men's Basketball.

"The Capital Classic is a cornerstone event for high school basketball, and we're excited to welcome it back to Capital One Arena," said Lakeisha Roberts, Vice President, Booking at MSE. "Providing a premier stage for these elite student-athletes-particularly those representing the DMV-reflects our commitment to hosting impactful events that celebrate the region's deep basketball culture while delivering a first-class experience for athletes and fans alike."

The double-header will tip-off with the Vicki Brick-Zupancic DMV Girls All-Star Game at 10:30 AM and the Boys Capital Classic Game at 12:00 PM. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.comstarting at $25. All-Star boys and girls rosters will be announced at a later date.

"It's thrilling to provide these young athletes with an opportunity to showcase their talents, and this year we get to do it on one of basketball's biggest stages in the heart of D.C.," said Tom Doyle, CEO of the Capital Classic and Hoop Culture. "The Capital Classic has a long history of spotlighting future stars, and fans may be seeing many of these players again in the years to come."

The Vicki Brick-Zupancic DMV Girls All-Star Game will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, while the Boys Capital Classic Game will support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington- reflecting a shared commitment to leveraging the game's historic platform to support meaningful community causes. By partnering with the Capital Classic Youth Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Capital Classic, game beneficiaries are able to drive awareness and support across the community, making a lasting impact in the lives of young athletes.

Events such as the Capital Classic strengthen MSE's deep investment in celebrating DMV-area student athletes, expanding access to sports industry opportunities, and deepening MSE's presence in the local high school athletics community.
