Tuesday deadline to file paperwork to run for Colorado Springs City Council

Residents interested in running for Colorado Springs City Council must file their paperwork by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. A General Municipal Election will be held on April 1, 2025 to elect each of the six district City Council positions for Colorado Springs. Candidate filing packets can be picked up in the City Clerk's Office (30 South Nevada Avenue, Suite 101).

"It is very important that if a resident is planning to run for a City Council position this April election that they get their paperwork in by Tuesday before 5 p.m.," said Colorado Springs City Clerk Sarah Johnson. "If you do not file to run by the deadline, you name will not be able to be included on this year's ballot."

The City Clerk hosted a training session for candidates on Jan. 2. A recording of that training is available at ColoradoSprings.gov/CandidateInformation.
