Dececchi to lead 2 biology outreach events

Dakota State University Assistant Professor Alex Dececchi will lead two science outreach sessions next week, one at Madison Public Library and one at Severance Brewing.

On Monday, Nov. 10, Dececchi will teach families about dinosaur fossils for Family Fun Night at the Madison Public Library. Unearth the Dinosaurs will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include craft activities for attendees to participate in.

The following day, Dececchi will be the speaker at the monthly Sioux Falls Science Pub talks at Severance Brewing on Tuesday, Nov. 11. His talk will focus on wing evolution and will include a Kahoot trivia game with prizes. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. and Severance Brewing is a family-friendly venue.

Dececchi is an evolutionary biologist and paleontologist, who conducts research related to the evolution of birds, dinosaur biomechanics, and dinosaur evolution.
