Condemned Incarcerated Person Daniel Frederickson Dies

CHINO - Daniel C. Frederickson, who was serving a condemned sentence, died on August 19, 2026, while incarcerated at California Institution for Men (CIM). He was 63 years old.

At approximately 12:25 p.m., Frederickson was pronounced deceased by a physician at the institution. The San Bernardino County Coroner will determine his official cause of death.

Frederickson was received from Orange County on January 14, 1998, and placed on condemned status for first-degree murder with an enhancement for use of a firearm.

CIM opened in 1941 and houses approximately 3,075 minimum-, medium- and maximum-security incarcerated persons. CIM offers academic classes and vocational programs and employs approximately 1,500 people.
