Leadership Change in Group Supply Chain Management

Effective October 1, 2025, Martin Umland will be appointed Group Vice President Supply Chain Management of the Otto Group. He will succeed Raphael Adrian Maier, who is leaving the Hamburg-based retail and services group at his own request.

With Martin Umland, an experienced and well-connected logistics manager from within the company will take on this responsible position in the Otto Group Holding. In his new role, the engineer will be particularly responsible for logistics planning, strategy, innovation, and corporate services for the group.

Martin Umland has been working for the company since 2006 in various roles, initially as project manager in the Otto Group Holding and at Hermes Fulfilment. Since 2010, he has held various leadership positions within the Bonprix Group, most recently as Vice President Logistics, responsible for the international logistics of the fashion brand. In addition, he successfully led and implemented a comprehensive transformation program for the entire Bonprix Group organization until the end of 2024.

"We are very pleased to have gained Martin, a competent and successful manager from the Otto Group, for this strategically central position in the Otto Group Holding. I wish him all the best and much success in his new role within the group," says Kay Schiebur, Executive Board Services of the Otto Group.

Martin succeeds Raphael Adrian Maier, who is leaving the group at his own request on September 30, 2025, to return to his Swiss homeland. Kay Schiebur: "With Raphael Maier, we are losing a highly successful logistics expert. He has significantly advanced Otto Group's supply chain management and elevating it to new heights. Raphael looks back on numerous innovative milestones in group logistics, including groundbreaking strategic partnerships in AI robotics with Covariant and Boston Dynamics. I deeply regret Raphael's decision to leave the Otto Group and wish him great success in his future endeavors."
