HONOLULU - July 26, 2025, marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA). Thehistoric civil rights law protects therights ofand prohibits discrimination against people with disabilitiesin all aspects oflife including employment, education, transportation and access to public and private services, programs and activities.

TheADA 35th AnniversaryPlanning Committee comprises of theHawai'i Department ofHealth - Disability and Communication Access Board, Hawai'i State Council on Developmental Disabilities, Executive Office on Aging, Hawai'i Department ofHuman Services - Division ofVocational Rehabilitation - Statewide Independent Living Council ofHawai'i, and Assistive Technology Resource Centers ofHawai'i. Thecommittee honors thedisability rights movement and thedecades ofadvocacy led by people with disabilitiesfor full inclusion, independence, equal access and quality oflife.

To commemorate the 35th anniversary of theADA, a rally will be conducted statewide rally at thefollowing locations on Friday, July 25, 2025.
