Colorado Democrats Congratulate Jena Griswold on Election as Attorney General

DENVER - The Colorado Democratic Party congratulates Jena Griswold on her election as Colorado's next attorney general.

As secretary of state, Griswold defended Colorado's elections against attempts to undermine them and resisted federal demands for voters' sensitive information. She ran for attorney general promising to confront unlawful actions by the Trump administration, protect reproductive freedom and hold powerful corporations accountable. Her victory gives Colorado an attorney general prepared to defend those rights in court.

"Attorney General-elect Griswold has stood her ground through threats and intimidation because she understands that Coloradans' rights are worth defending," said Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib. "She has shown up ready to fight back when powerful people try to put themselves above the law. As attorney general, she will bring that same resolve to protecting our communities and taking on those who abuse their power. We're proud to stand with her and celebrate this victory."
