Operations Changes Due to Severe Weather

Monday, March 16, 2026

Due to potential severe weather forecasted for the afternoon and evening, Charles County Government has made the following operational changes for Monday, March 16.:

• The Charles County Welcome Center is closing at 2 p.m.
• All Senior Centers are closing at 2 p.m.
• The Waldorf Senior and Recreational Center (WSRC) and Elite Gymnastics are closing at 2:30 p.m.
• All afternoon/evening recreation programs and activities are canceled at school-based centers and the Port Tobacco Recreation Center.
• All afternoon and evening activities and programs at Charles County Parks are canceled.
• Landfill and Recycling Centers are closing at 3 p.m.
• VanGO transit service will shutdown from 3-6 p.m.
• • Routes originating from the 301 Park & Ride in Waldorf, will end between 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM. See schedule for times
  • Routes originating from the La Plata Park & Ride, will end between 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM. See schedule for times
