The victim of a January 15 non-lethal shooting was arrested today after an investigation of his Judd Drive home found he was in possession of multiple firearms, stolen vehicles and drugs. Last month Lamont Havis Sr., 37, was taken to St. Thomas Midtown Hospital by his 17-year-old son after he was shot in the shoulder while inside his Infiniti.
The 17-year-old was arrested on unrelated, outstanding warrants. He was also found to be in possession of 80 grams of marijuana at the time of his arrest.
Further investigation, led by Non-Lethal Shooting Unit detectives, resulted in a search warrant of Havis' home. Havis, a convicted felon, was found to have nearly 10 pounds of marijuana, nine firearms (one equipped with a switch making it a fully automatic weapon), and two stolen vehicles at his residence.
Warrants were obtained against Havis, who was arrested this afternoon by TITANS Unit detectives at Cedar Hill Park. He had more than five pounds of marijuana during today's arrest.
Havis faces 19 charges tonight, including several counts of felony weapon possession, evidence tampering, evading arrest and drug possession. He remains jailed on $188,500 bond.
The investigation into his January 15 shooting remains active.
