The JFTC has signed a Cooperation Arrangement with the DG CONNECT of the European Commission and the DG COMP of the European Commission

On 23 July 2025, the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) signed a Cooperation Arrangement (CA) with the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology of the European Commission (DG CONNECT) and the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission (DG COMP) regarding Japan's Act on Promotion of Competition for Specified Smartphone Software and the EU's Digital Markets Act.
The CA was signed online by Mr. Iwanari, Secretary General of the JFTC's General Secretariat, Mr. Viola, Director General of the DG CONNECT and Mr. Guersent, Director General of the DG COMP.
