Silent Key: Don Nielson

We are saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Don Nielson, Executive Director of Norcomm Communications. Don was a dedicated professional in emergency communications, and we are grateful for his contributions and support of APCO International and, specifically, Illinois APCO over the years. Don has been a member of APCO for over 17 years. During his tenure he achieved Registered Public Safety Leader (RPL) certification and was an APCO Institute instructor. For Illinois, he was an important member of the EMD Committee. He also actively participated in national APCO Committees for Pro-CHRT, Professional Events Development and APCO's Social Media Working Group. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Don's family and everyone at Norcomm Public Safety Communications. We thank him for his leadership and service to the 9-1-1 community over the years.
