Miley is dancing into a brand new era with her latest single "Bass Persuades."
On Thursday (September 3), Miley dropped the first single from her upcoming 10th studio album Bass Persuades, giving fans their first taste of what to expect on the record that arrives September 18 via Atlantic Records, following up her 2025 album Something Beautiful.
The musician, who recently ditched her last name, also shared an accompanying music video directed by Mert Alas that captures the energy she is bringing into her new era, dancing through the night as she encourages people to put down their phone and get close with someone in real life.
"The kids don't wanna dance, the kids don't wanna dance/ We can't stay like this forever/ Let's surrender to the night, put our bodies close together," she sings in the chorus.
Miley announced her forthcoming album earlier this week on social media, sharing the album artwork alongside a message explaining what the title means to her.
"Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on," she said. "It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That's what the title means to me."
Fans will also get the chance to see Miley's new music live in person when she makes her return to the stage during her debut the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, her "favorite place to experience music," for a two-night only show on October 16 and October 18.
You can listen to "Bass Persuades" on iHeartRadio.
