Congressman Kennedy Statement on Final Passage of DHS Funding Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Tim Kennedy released the below statement today following final passage in the House of the Senate-led DHS funding bill:

"For 76 days, Republicans kept the Department of Homeland Security shuttered, risking national security, jeopardizing pay for TSA workers, and halting essential missions at FEMA. And for more than a month, House Republicans refused to pass a bipartisan funding bill the Senate approved unanimously, intentionally holding hostage FEMA, TSA, and Coast Guard personnel just so they could first secure billions more in funding for ICE to continue the violent assault on our communities. After overseeing the longest shutdown in history, Speaker Johnson has finally allowed this funding bill to pass, proving once again the Republican Majority cannot govern."
