Montgomery, AL - The City of Montgomery's Military and Veterans Commission is proud to announce the launch of the Veterans Memorial Park fundraising campaign and its new website, which launched on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, as part of the city's Veterans Day Celebration. This initiative marks a major step toward creating a lasting tribute to America's veterans and providing essential recreational resources for Montgomery's families and military community.
A Vision for Honor and Recreation
Located at 2390 Cong. W. L. Dickinson Dr., the planned 14.4-acre Veterans Memorial Park will feature a dignified memorial complex designed to honor service members from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force.

Fundraising Campaign and Website Launch
The new website, launching on Veterans Day, will serve as the central platform for the fundraising campaign. Visitors will find detailed information about the park's vision, project components, and ways to get involved. The site features a patriotic "DONATE NOW and PLEDGE SUPPORT" button to encourage public participation.
Donation levels offer meaningful recognition:
$50 - The Sentinel: Personalized digital Thank You certificate.
$100 - The Patriot: Name added to the digital Donor Roll on the City website.
$500 - The Guardian: Invitation to the Groundbreaking Ceremony.
$1,000+ - The Founder: Engraved plaque/brick on the Path of Honor.

A Community Effort

The park is estimated at $1.28 million and will be funded entirely through city contributions and ongoing community fundraising efforts.
