RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, is pleased to announce that James Hunter, vice president of government relations, has been selected to join the 2024-2025 Leadership North Carolina(LNC) class, the state's premier leadership deployment program. LNC's mission is to inform, develop and engage committed leaders by broadening their understanding of and involvement in issues and opportunities facing the state.
"I am honored to join Leadership North Carolina ," said Hunter. "I'm looking forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the issues facing our state and collaborating with fellow leaders committed to making a positive impact in our state and local communities."
Hunter is one of 56 civic and community leaders who will participate in the acclaimed Core Program this year following a rigorous selection process. With a network of more than 1,400 graduates, participants have access to a wide network of top leaders from government, business, nonprofit and education sectors, providing them with abundant opportunities to contribute to the state.

"His dedication and leadership have consistently driven positive change at RTI International. This program will further enhance his ability to contribute meaningfully to North Carolina's future."
The class will participate in seven two-and-a-half day sessions around the state where they will learn about issues critical to North Carolina through discussions with top officials and professionals, field trips and experiential learning activities. LNC's sessions focus on six key areas: economic development, education, environment, government, health and human services and inclusive leadership.
Hunter currently serves on the North Carolina Board of Science, Technology and Innovation, is a Marshall Memorial Fellow, and the co-chair of the Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) Roundtable.
