University of Dubuque's Music and Theatre Faculty to Present Solo and Ensemble Performances

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque's Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present a Faculty Recital at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center.

UD's music and theatre faculty will present a variety of solo and ensemble performances including organ, instrumental, vocal, and dramatic works.

The recital will include a performance on the John and Alice Butler Pipe Organ by Charles Barland, DMA, university organist and professor of music. Additionally, a piano duet of Mozart's Sonata for Two Pianos, K448 will fill the hall when played by Kristen Eby, MM, head of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, director of choral activities, and associate professor of music, and Jill Klinebriel, adjunct professor of music.

Tracey Rush, MM, adjunct professor of music, will perform a viola solo of a piece she composed, titled "Song." Rush will be accompanied on the piano by Eby.

Vocal performances will include those by Katherine Galliart, MM, adjunct professor of voice, who will sing "Vanilla Ice Cream" from She Loves Me (music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick). Galliart will be joined by Joe Klinebriel, MFA, professor of theatre, on stage for a duet of "Sue Me" from Guys and Dolls (music and lyrics by Frank Loesser).

Joe Klinebriel will also perform a monologue from Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare.

The Faculty Recital will feature additional performances from faculty and staff.

The event is free and open to the public. No ticket is required.
