City Colleges of Chicago Chancellor Juan Salgado will join higher education and business leaders for an upcoming discussion on the role of colleges and universities in strengthening the workforce, driving innovation, and supporting economic growth.
On October 28, Chancellor Salgado and four other panelists will explore the potential economic impact of student enrollment trends on businesses, Chicago's workforce, and the nation's ability to compete globally during "The State of Higher Education." The discussion will examine how higher education can help the United States maintain its position as a leader in innovation and opportunity and explore ways colleges and universities can make education more affordable, connect programs to employer needs, and prepare students for in-demand careers.
These priorities are central to City Colleges' mission to help Chicagoans build skills, pursue careers, and contribute to the region's economy through affordable education, career-focused programs, and employer partnerships.
The Chancellor's participation will contribute to the broader conversation about how higher education can continue to serve as a driver of economic mobility, workforce development, and opportunity for Chicago and beyond.
