NEW ORLEANS - The City of New Orleans Office of Resilience and Sustainability, Department of Public Works, and New Orleans Health Department invite the public to help shape the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) New Orleans Safety Action Plan, a bold initiative to eliminate fatal and serious injury crashes on local roadways.
Through a newly launched website, online survey, and in-person events, community members can share their experiences, concerns, and ideas to make New Orleans streets safer for everyone.
About the SS4A New Orleans Safety Action Plan
Traffic crashes are preventable tragedies. Between 2019 and 2023, 297 people were killed and more than 47,000 were injured on New Orleans roadways. Safe Streets for All (SS4A) is a coordinated effort to address issues that cause fatal and serious crashes. Funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation, the New Orleans SS4A Safety Action Plan will use a detailed analysis of crash history, predictive studies using "big data," and input from community members to recommend safer infrastructure, programs, and policies throughout the city.
To get involved, residents are encouraged to visit the Safe Streets for All website to:
