December 31, 2025, Peoria, IL - Yesterday, Cortez R. Cagle, 20, was charged with Armed Robbery in connection with a 17-year-old male being robbed at gunpoint in September 2025. During Cagle's detention hearing, the State's request for detention was granted, meaning he will remain in custody until his trial.
On September 17, 2025, officers responded to a report of a man robbed at gunpoint in the 1600 block of N. Great Oak Court in Central Peoria. The victim reported that he was at his friend's home and, as he walked to his car, Cagle held a firearm to his back and told him to empty his pockets. The victim complied and handed Cagle $110.
The victim told police he was able to identify Cagle as the robber because they attended the same high school.
Cagle was arrested on December 29. He admitted to being in the area at the time of the robbery but denied any involvement.
