Washburn University to name Sneed Indoor Athletics Facility in honor of alumnus and passionate athletics supporter Bill Sneed

WHAT: Washburn University opened its Indoor Athletics Facility in November 2020. Following the passing of William (Bill) Sneed in 2022, a group of anonymous donors made a transformational gift to Washburn Athletics to provide scholarships for student-athletes across all programs. Donors made the gift in honor of Sneed, a Washburn alumnus who earned his bachelor's degree from Washburn in 1977 and his law degree from Washburn University School of Law in 1980. He served many years on the Washburn University Board of Regents, the Washburn University Foundation Board of Trustees and the Ichabod Athletic Club. His passion for Washburn athletics was evident to all who knew him. To honor his life and legacy, the facility will now be known as the Sneed Indoor Athletics Facility. This event will reveal the building signage to his family, friends and members of the Washburn community.
