Mayor Norton Partners with Rochester Police Department to Host Town Hall on Advanced Policing Technology

Rochester Mayor Kim Norton, in partnership with the Rochester Police Department, will host a public Town Hall on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, focused on the use of advanced technology in policing.

The event will explore drones and camera technologies through presentations, live demonstrations, and opportunities for audience questions. The goal is to provide information, increase transparency, and hear directly from the community.

"Technology continues to evolve, and it is important that our community understands how and why these tools are used," said Mayor Norton. "This Town Hall is an opportunity to share information, listen to concerns, and ensure we are moving forward thoughtfully and transparently."

"Advanced technology can enhance public safety while also requiring strong oversight and accountability," said Police Chief Jim Franklin. "We welcome the chance to demonstrate how these tools are used and to hear directly from residents."

The Town Hall is free and open to the public. RSVP is requested.
