Thales in the UK has been awarded c.€20 million contract by Ireland's Department of Defence to supply INVISIO's Integrated Communications and Hearing Protection System to the Defence Forces. The system delivers clear, secure voice communications, advanced hearing protection and improved situational awareness in high-noise and complex operational environments.
The system, already in service with the Army Ranger Wing since 2015 and used on EU Battlegroup deployments, has demonstrated operational effectiveness and user acceptance. The solution will integrate with Thales' tactical software defined radios procured under a separate €76 million contract, ensuring interoperability across platforms. This strategic investment will enhance the safety and effectiveness of Ireland's Defence Forces.
