SBE Council President & CEO Karen Kerrigan joined Jeffrey Snyder of the Broadcast Retirement Network (BRN) to discuss the state of America's small businesses and a promising solution addressing the persistent challenge of affordable health coverage: CHOICE Arrangements (formerly ICHRAs).
Kerrigan highlighted the current state of small businesses and SBE Council's latest survey findings: 81% of small business employers are meeting their financial goals for 2026, and 88% say they are either stable or growing.
She explained how CHOICE Arrangements give employers greater control over health benefit costs while empowering employees to select coverage that best meets their individual or family needs. With 20,000 employers now offering these arrangements - 70% of small business adopting these arrangements previously offered no coverage - Kerrigan discussed their growing popularity and the policy reforms needed to expand access, strengthen certainty, and make health coverage more affordable.
